Summer Sales & The Lucky 7

The end of summer! Lucky7blogWhat’s left on your summer bucket list? I know what is NOT on your list. Buying cheap ‘stuff’ at the end of summer sales!

I know it’s tempting to pick up that 10.00 shirt or those 5.00 shoes, but honestly ask yourself:

“Do I really need another pair of sandals (it will be 57 degrees tonight), another ‘T’ shirt (you have 100) or another maxi skirt (definitely won’t be on trend next year)? Weren’t there a few essentials that I was missing this season that inhibited me from building some great outfits?”

Inevitably as I work with my clients we unearth an over-abundance of boring T-shirts, novelty flip flops, unflattering shorts and crazy looking sundresses that end up in the give-away pile as they mutter ‘what was I thinking’! Let’s break the cycle of wasting hard earned dollars and engage in shopping with purpose!

Take a good look at your wardrobe and see what you might need to replace for next year. Go through the essentials, make a list of what you have and what you don’t have and that list is what your summer sale dollars should be spent on. You’ll have a jump start on next years’ fabulous wardrobe as opposed to starting up the season realizing you don’t have a basic item and then being forced to pay FULL price! Now there is no savings in that, is there?

The Lucky 7 – End of Summer Sales – Essential List

• The white T – yes of course you need a new one of those so you can look crisp and fresh. Make sure it’s stylish!
• The white pant – were you wearing an old pair that just wasn’t the greatest fit or worse – you didn’t have a pair at all?
• The white, black or tan linen jacket – this is an essential layering piece over all of your sassy sleeveless shells.
• An accent colored sweater for layering – was there an on-trend color you wished you had, now’s the time to pick it up!
• A new necklace – you saw all those fabulous summer baubles with the shocking sticker price – not so shocking now! Dive into the jewelry department.
• Check your summer shoes – did you not wear that cute dress or skirt because at the last minute all you had was a pair of plastic sandals with a daisy on them? Pick up a sassy peek toe with a heel – you’ll be glad you did!
• The go-to dress – let’s pop on a dress and go! One and done. A girl can’t have enough dresses.

Remember – shop with purpose!
As always, if you need help editing or shopping, let’s book a date!
