Developing a positive body image and learning how to dress to suit one’s body type can be a challenge. For girls in treatment, these challenges are often compounded by financial constraints, mental health issues, eating disorders, histories of abuse or neglect that can dissuade youth from taking care of their appearance. Style coach and image consultant Doreen Dove’s goal is to help girls learn to love and accept their bodies so they can feel more comfortable and confident about their appearance.
