What’s In Your Closet?

What’s In Your Closet?

What’s in your summer closet that is! We know there’s LOTS of stuff in your closet but let’s just focus on the clothing that is relevant to your climate, your style, your comfort zone, and your planned post-Covid activities.

If you plan to cloak yourself in yellow plastic bags (circa Niagara Falls) then it doesn’t matter what is underneath. However, you will have to rip that bag off at some point, so let’s just make sure we have a few workhorse items in each category so you can dress with confidence this summer. Since we are still doing the majority of our shopping online, I have linked to a few basics in each category.

  • I always dress my clients from the bottom up because your activity usually dictates your shoes. Let’s choose 4 types – sneakers, flats, wedges, and a heeled sandal.
  • Next to our bottom half, let’s cover the legs in 3 lengths – shorts, capris, and to the ankle.
  • On the top half, what’s better than a crisp summer white! Let’s cover the arms in one of 3 lengths – short sleeve, 3/4 sleeve, or long sleeve.
  • For cooler nights, layer with sweaters, either pullovers or cardigans.
  • Top the look with a jacket, maybe a pattern if you are stacking solids, or keep the look clean with a solid slicker.

Remember it is not too late to do a summer closet edit – you might be surprised what you uncover. But then again, you might be disappointed by what you don’t find in there, and if that is the case shop away!
