Bridge The Gap!

It’s Sunday morning, and I just returned from a visit to my parents’ house in Warwick, Rhode Island. I wanted to get back to Boston before the big snowstorm – but alas no snow!

While checking the news feed on my FB business page, I was delighted to see the video post of Warwick designer, Toni Lyn Spaziano, and felt compelled to share.

While styling my clients, they often remark that they have nothing in common with cutting edge fashion and trends, claiming they are just regular gals who shop at the local mall, buy the same looks over and over and could never see themselves in ‘those runway styles’.

Let’s bridge the gap – take a look at this video.

These stunning fashions are how it all starts. A vision from a talented designer that incorporates beautiful fabrics and flattering proportions that you, the regular gal, will no doubt eventually see, be attracted to, and buy at your favorite store. I presume you have watched Project Runway? That is how it all begins. A creative designer like Toni creates a line, shows her line at market week, where buyers from stores large and small, view the line, sharpen their pencils and write their orders. Six months later it is beautifully displayed in your local Nordstrom’s or Newbury Street boutique and in you come. You pick up a few pieces from that striking black and white collection (I still can’t pair my favorites down to a few pieces) and the next thing you know, you are the talk of the town! (Did you see her outfit last night – I wonder who the designer was?)

VOILA! You have bridged the gap without even realizing that you ARE wearing ‘those runway styles’.

So watch the video again and picture yourself in one of these looks – perhaps the black and white dress for a night out, or that same patterned bow blouse worn with the tweed skirt for the office!

Bridging the gap:

Designer Toni Lyn Spaziano is a native of Warwick, RI (we actually went to the same High School) and is mostly self-taught in the field of fashion design. Behind the scenes of her fashion persona Toni is dedicated to helping children in need. After meeting a special boy named Chance, she created Team Chance, the catch phrase coined for her cause’s supporters. This organization is dedicated to helping children with disabilities, and she donates a portion of the proceeds from her business – Chances R Designs. Donations to Team Chance help support the Painted Turtle – a summer camp for children with chronic illnesses that lets them enjoy the camp experience in a fun, safe way.  Contributions are also shared with Finn’s Fund for children with cystic fibrosis and other groups helping less fortunate kids both nationally and internationally.
