Are My Boobs Too Big For This Dress?

There are two common questions that women mutter in front of the mirror.

1. Does my butt look fat in this dress?

2. Are my boobs too big for this dress?

Somehow, the first ‘butt’ question and the myriad of responses that go with it usually result in an immediate fix. Oh no Rita, I ain’t buyin’ this dress if it makes by derriere look like Kim Kardashian’s.

However the second ‘boob’ question and the myriad of responses oftentimes result in a lackadaisical approach to the solution. Oh-it-is-what-it-is or a-little-bit-of-extra-cleavage isn’t a bad thing.

More often than not, my clients want the girls locked and loaded, stored away for future use. I have even heard them mutter, “I wish I could actually store them at night and sleep on my stomach.”

As we witness, there is no shortage of T&A on the boob-tube. Now there’s a loaded sentence. As Mom always said, there is a time and a place for everything.

In the event that you find yourself asking ~ are my boobs too big for this dress ~ read on because it may just be the bra you are wearing.

As Oprah exposed (pun intended) eight out of ten women are wearing the wrong size bra. Why is that? Would you walk around in the wrong size shoe? Women strive for wardrobe perfection in their outerwear, but it all starts with proper fitting foundations.

When is the last time you actually had aa0a1afc2_bad-example_smallbrafitting-300x232 bra fitting? Perhaps when you got your first training bra? What the hell were we training anyway? Are your girls smashed into some bra that is too tight causing the dreaded side boob? Get your boobs, all four of them (if you count overflow), over to a top notch department store for a proper measurement by their Bra Fit Specialists.

Screenshot-2014-04-10-11.40.24-300x177A well fitting bra will benefit you by giving you better posture, a perkier, younger looking chest, a classier look in your clothing, the appearance of a flatter and longer stomach and reduced back pain by locking and loading them where they are supposed to be.

Now ladies – bigger on the top means bigger assets – and assets need to be insured! Insure the ‘girls’ with the best fitting bra you can afford and purge the old ones.

Weight gain or loss of even just five pounds may change the fit of your bra.  And for those of you with bigger assets, there are bigger fit challenges that go along with that.

Here are some fit tips:

  • If the bra band is too big, your bust will droop.
  • If you don’t have enough coverage in the cup you’ll have breast overflow which results in triple boob syndrome.
  • Your bra band should be parallel to the floor, low and snug on the back, not hanging off your neck.
  • The cup of the bra should contain all your breast tissue and shouldn’t pinch, bind, bite or annoy.
  • You want your breasts to be lifted, contained and happy!
  • Invest time to have a professional bra fitting. You won’t believe the difference it will make in how fabulous your clothing looks on you.
